Mike Braun Orders Flags Lowered to Half-Staff in Honor of Beech Grove Officer Brian Elliott INDIANAPOLIS – Governor Mike Braun has directed flags to be flown at half-staff in Marion County in honor of Beech Grove Officer Brian Elliott, who was killed in the line of duty on Monday, February 16. Officer Elliott served the Marion County Sheriff's Department for six years prior to joining the Beech Grove Police Department in 2024. Governor Braun has ordered flags to be lowered at all state facilities in Marion County from sunrise to sunset on the day of Officer Elliott's funeral, Monday, February 23. Governor Braun encourages all Hoosiers in Marion County to help honor Officer Elliott by lowering flags to half-staff at their homes and businesses.
