Governor Kelly Directs Flags be Flown at Half-Staff in Honor of Former Kansas Supreme Court Justice Evelyn Wilson TOPEKA – Governor Laura Kelly, in accordance with Executive Order #20-30, today ordered flags throughout the State of Kansas be flown at half-staff from sunup on Tuesday, April 7, to sundown on Thursday, April 9, in honor of former Kansas Supreme Court Justice Evelyn Wilson. Justice Wilson died on Saturday, April 4, 2026. “I was deeply saddened to learn of Justice Wilson's passing,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “Throughout her long career as an attorney, judge, and justice, she served Kansans with integrity and character.
